About the opportunity
Alcoa’s Western Australia Refining business has an exciting opportunity for a Workshop and Stores Manager to join the leadership team on a 12month fixed term contract. The Workshop and Stores are based at the Pinjarra refinery and provide a service to all three of Alcoa’s refineries and two mine sites.
The Workshop and Stores Manager is responsible to provide team support, motivation and development resources through effective planning and organisation and a modern leadership style to improve Workshop and Stores performance, cost effectiveness and reliability to support the business needs.
Some of the main key areas of this position are;
- Continue the process of evolving the workshop and stores processes from reactive to a planned, predictive and preventative environment;
Provide team support, motivation and development to influence supervisors and/or high-level professionals in the process of cultural change by applying significant experience in maintenance activities and by training & guiding others who are learning their roles;
Achieve cost effective service delivery by maintaining services agreements so that delivery targets are met in a timely manner;
Pursue a workplace that is safe and without risk to health, hygiene and environment;
Build and maintain a close working relationship with key maintenance supervisors and Tradespeople, equipment managers, area engineers and other technical personnel;
Undertake complex data analysis and develop long term strategic plans for the Pinjarra Workshop and Stores departments.

- Tertiary qualifications or trade background,
At least 8-10 years’ proven experience in a Workshop Manager or similar leadership role,
Knowledge in maintenance expenditure within operating budget levels

Pinjarra Alumina Refinery is located 90 kilometres south of Perth, a 30-minute drive from the coastal city of Mandurah and six kilometres, or a 10 minute drive, east of the regional town of Pinjarra. It is situated in the Peel region of Western Australia, within the Shire of Murray and is a major regional employer with approximately 1000 employees.
