About the role

As a Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for the effective and safe supervision of transport resources while assisting the Fleet Manager to ensure that safety, quality and client required compliance expectations are met, along with providing advice and feedback on transport operational issues to the Regional Logistics Manager and Fleet Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with organising training and inductions specific to the project
  • Conduct transport related safe site inspections
  • Train and coach drivers with slump, safety and professional driver techniques
  • Transport Supervisor to assist in tool box meetings and LOD's on site (drivers).
  • Identify and implement process opportunities in the Transport Operations.
  • Work with the Fleet Manager and Regional Logistics Manager to identify the service levels required and to ensure that they are achievable.
  • Always maintain effective and timely communications between internal and external customers.

About you

  • Having had experience with concrete products in a similar role, with exposure in the construction materials industry being an advantage.
  • Exposure in the Supply Chain Industry to fleet or logistics management may be considered to be an advantage.
  • Create an environment where employees feel comfortable to ask questions, raise concerns.
  • Prioritize activities to ensure maximum value creation for the customer and the organization
  • Manage individual and group dynamics for overall success
  • Communicate relevant information in a timely manner, using two way communication to ensure understanding
  • Give honest, timely and constructive feedback regarding strengths and areas to improve
  • Bring positive energy to the group, communicating a collective purpose and creating a clear line of site
  • Professional level written and verbal communication skills are essential along with a proficiency in Microsoft Office.
