Come and be a part of this success.We are seeking a diverse and talented individual to take on the role of Technician Mechanical at our Yandi mine on a fly-in fly-out 2/1 roster. Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
  • Prioritise work to meet shift deadlines
  • Complete and validate shift reports and document all issues requiring following up
  • Maintenance in all areas of fixed plant including crushing, screening and train loading Including commissioning, fault finding and repair
  • Follow specific maintenance procedures
  • Assist in the development/creation of specific maintenance procedures
  • Operation of plant and mobile equipment including overhead cranes, telehandlers, forklifts
  • Accurate completion of documentation including work order close out comments, drawings and technical reports
  • Facilitating and participating in shift handovers
  • Follow and ensure compliance with Maintenance Work Management process
  • Participate and contribute to Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Undertake training as required

As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following:

  • A mechanical trade qualification
  • Experience of computerised maintenance systems (1SAP)
  • C class manual drivers licence, essential, HR desirable
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • High risk work license, essential
  • Previous experience of maintenance in processing plant
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong practical experience with a minimum of 4 years in relevant trade within a heavy industry
