Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 Day/Night roster, with residential or DIDO options available.

We are currently looking to hire an Electrical Maintenance Technician in our Mine Maintenance Fixed Plant Hoisting department.

The position will report to the Supervisor of the Hoisting team. The suited candidate will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance and break down activities related to vertical shaft hoisting system.

In this role you will:

  • Promote and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day to maintain key fixed plant infrastructure in accordance with HSEC, governance and risk management requirements

  • Assist with any planned maintenance and complete tasks in a safe and timely manner within SAP Work Management System relate to fixed plant equipment

  • Provide electrical trade skills to perform unplanned or breakdown maintenance related to the vertical shaft hoisting system

  • Maintain equipment on the surface, underground and within the hoisting system vertical shaft

  • Work with your team, and other work groups, to a high level of accountability and be able to build strong team relationships

  • Provide Feedback to the Shift Maintenance Supervisors on Job progress, identify reliability and continuous improvement opportunities for the department

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Must hold an electrical trade
  • Working at heights experience and accreditation
  • Unrestricted SA (or equivalent) Driver’s license
  • Rigger, Dogger, Crane, FL and Bridge & Gantry tickets, also advantageous
  • Fixed plant, hoist & shaft experience
  • Mining & underground experience highly regarded
  • Must have solid time management skills and be able to prioritize
  • Need to be safety minded, with proven ability to demonstrate HSEC behaviours
