Come and be a part of this success.We currently have an multiple opportunities to join our Health, Safety and Environment team as a Specialist Safety across various BMA mine sites in the Bowen Basin.

Reporting to the Superintendent HSE, this is a unique opportunity to utilise your skills and experience with one of the world's largest coal producers. In this role, you will provide specialised safety advice, support and coaching for leadership to promote improved safety outcomes across the site.

In this role you will:

  • Support line management in their accountability for HSE risk assessments, event investigation, field;
  • Leadership and compliance to relevant HSE requirements;
  • Monitor the quality of HSE risk assessments, event investigation and field leadership;

Coach, influence and provide technical expertise in service of building Safety and Health capacity and capability within operations/ projects; and

  • Provide input into safety planning and risk management processes.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety, Risk Management, Engineering or a related field;

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels in safety and zero harm;

  • Coaching and mentoring skills with a genuine desire to help people, achieve solid outcomes and support continuous improvement;

  • Professional with distinctive proficiency in the HSE area with a minimum 2 years' experience in mining or a relevant industry;

  • Previous exposure to the mining and minerals processing industries is preferable; and

  • Knowledge of the WHS and QLD Coal Mining legislation is desirable.
