**Our Operations****One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver.

About the role

Supporting the Olympic Dam Operation you will provide expertise in world class contract management systems for a portfolio of diverse projects up to $20M. You will work the full lifecycle from tendering and negotiation through to ongoing contract close out that will promote mutually beneficial outcomes between BHP and our suppliers.

This position is based at Olympic Dam on a 14/7 roster.FIFO from Adelaide or Residential options at Roxby Downs can be offered.This role will be offered on a 12 month fixed term basis (with potential to extend)In this role you will:

  • Ensure the appropriate allocation of risks through the selection of the most effective commercial pricing models

  • Draft high quality tender and contract documents to minimise ambiguity, thereby reducing opportunities for claims

  • Influence the selection of various project delivery models (e.g. EPC; EPCM and Owners Team Managed) throughout the project phases

  • Provide contract management and administration support to project teams throughout the contract life-cycle

  • Oversee contractor and contract performance monitoring and reporting to support the Projects Category

  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support, to lead negotiations with vendors and provide on-going contract management up to and including close-out

  • Implement principles and methods to mitigate dispute avoidance and resolution.

  • Contract variances updating or expanding Scopes of Services and Schedules of Materials

  • Supports direct tendering, negotiation & implementation of complex and high value contracts across Minerals Australia to reduce total cost to the business as required

  • Maintain contract data in SAP/SRM systems and other contract management systems

  • Experience in a Contracts Administration, Supply or Procurement role

  • Demonstrated capability working through the full life-cycle of contract management and procurement with a portfolio of projects – from Tendering through to Close Out

  • Engagement and influencing skills that effectively drive outcomes with different groups

  • Detail focussed with effective organisational skills

  • Positive, pro-active through processes with demonstrated success achieving quality deliverables

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and provide effective communication to stakeholders

  • The confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
