AECOM is currently looking for a Senior/Principal Acoustic Engineer with experience in building acoustics, transport infrastructure, and/or environmental acoustics, to join our team. Our team is working on some of the largest and most exciting infrastructure and building projects in Australia, and seeks to recruit acoustic engineering personnel of the highest calibre to contribute to the successful delivery of these projects.

Reporting directly to the Victorian Acoustics Team Leader you will be responsible to assist in developing the acoustics team, as well as acting as the Project Manager on acoustics projects. Our acoustics group is large and dynamic, and works collaboratively to deliver projects, devise new methodologies, and develop our people.

Responsibilities

  • Lead acoustic engineering projects;
  • Delegate responsibilities as appropriate and provide guidance in overseeing, reviewing, programming and evaluating technical issues on projects to junior staff;
  • Initiate and maintain contacts within industry in order to assist the company in obtaining its work;
  • Ensure financial management of projects;
  • Provide a high level of service for the client and other members of the project team;
  • Plan and program design and documentation activities to ensure key dates are achieved; and
  • Represent the company at meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Engineering or Science degree qualified in a relevant discipline, post-graduate qualifications will be an advantage;
  • 5+ years Acoustic Consultancy experience (Senior) or 10+ years Acoustic Consultancy experience (Principal);
  • Proven competence is designing, 3D computer road and building modelling;
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor junior staff;
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
  • Experience in building/architectural acoustics;
  • Experience in environmental noise and road traffic or rail noise will be viewed favourably;
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to project manage acoustics projects; and
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to contribute to business development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering or Science degree qualified in a relevant discipline, post-graduate qualifications will be an advantage.
