Relevant industry experience in design processes in a consulting environment or direct consultancy experience with recognised tertiary qualification in relevant field is required. You will have strong interest in multi-disciplinary rail engineering as evidenced through substantial experience working on Rail Projects, and demonstrable Rail Safety and Systems Assurance understanding. Experience working in a project management role will also ensure your success in this role.
Ability to communicate and develop relationships with customers and colleagues is essential, along with effective written communication skills. You will also have proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines. Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership will be highly regarded.
About the role
Working in the Transport and Resources team in South Australia, the Senior Rail Engineer role will provide design management, technical leadership, business development, guidance and mentoring to the Transport team on a variety of projects primarily relating to the Rail businesses, and be responsible for the delivery of projects.
This position will also support the Regional Management Team charged with growing the reputation of the Arup Rail Business and driving the development and delivery of its project portfolio.
Duties and responsibilities will include
- Accountability for significant and complex activities or projects. This will require you to be responsible for predicting and planning future resources
Representing Arup at internal and external meetings
Taking a longer term strategic view of the business and contribute to the development plan of Arup
You may be involved in setting budgets; as such you would be responsible for negotiating agreements with customers and suppliers in order to achieve financial targets.
