What you will be delivering

As our Senior Network Planning Engineer, you will investigate, develop, and support the implementation of economic non-network solutions into the strategic and operational planning of AusNet Services’ high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage electricity transmission and distribution networks.



  • Identification of opportunities for economic non-network solutions to enhance network performance and reliability
  • Integration and specification of non-network solutions into augmentation and asset renewal projects, including detailed analysis for Regulatory Investment Test and Business Cases
  • Development of non-network solutions policy and framework to support business objectives
  • Manage the Demand Management (DM) portfolio and integrate DM into business as usual planning process
  • Lead and manage reliability improvement programs and integrate with network augmentation and asset renewal plans
  • Assist in developing, promoting and refining network planning processes, techniques and systems that will allow more efficient management of the network assets
  • Liaise with customers, regulators and stakeholders on non-network and reliability objectives and influence performance expectations through communication and participation in relevant forums
  • Contribute to Distribution Annual Planning Report, network contingency plans and Electricity Distribution Price Review submissions
  • Lead, coach and mentor professional engineers, sharing experience in dealing with project issues to achieve network performance, business and financial objectives

  • Sound experience in electricity supply industry in some of the areas of asset engineering, asset management, network planning or energy industry regulation
  • Extensive understanding of how non-network solutions can enhance network performance and reliability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in achieving business objectives and to develop relationships
  • Stakeholder management skills with an ability to engage with community groups
  • Electrical Engineering Degree qualified
  • Valid Australian Driver’s license
