About the opportunity

We have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Industrial IT & Automation Professional to join the Global Information Technology and Automation Solutions (ITAS) group.

As the Senior Mining Applications Consultant, you will be the subject matter expert in Mining applications and digital solutions across the Bauxite business globally.

This role provides high-level technical services to all mining operations globally in the areas of Manufacturing and Mining Execution Systems (MES), Information Applications, as well as automation and digital innovation, to assist in optimising operation, reducing costs, improve productivity and increase competitiveness. You are customer-oriented problem solver with solid skills in change management and negotiation practices.

The Senior Mining Applications Consultant manages a team of information system consultants and/or contractors to provide analysis, development, planning and execution of Bauxite mining information applications with a focus on developing innovative and transformational digital solutions supporting Bauxite business Connected Mine strategic goal.

About you

a Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar with experience in delivering services to Mining or heavy industry in business application development. You will have excellent communication skills as well as a working knowledge of relevant tools and technologies to provide the business with strategic direction and advice, technical assistance and support.

Candidates with substantial experience in integration and management of MES solutions in particular Pit to Port and Inventory Control (such as Ampla), Fleet Management (such as Jigsaw) and Real Time Information Historian (such as OSISoft PI) systems will be highly regarded.

About where you will work

Alcoa of Australia’s head office is located in Booragoon, approximately 15 kilometres south of Perth’s central business district. Approximately 150 employees provide corporate services, including finance, procurement, information technology, environmental management and corporate affairs, to Alcoa’s businesses locally and world-wide.
