At BHP we support our people to grow, learn, develop their skills and reach their potential. With a global portfolio of operations, we offer a diverse and inclusive environment with extraordinary career opportunities.  Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success. Come and be a part of this success. The Analysis & Improvement team systematically analyse performance and determine how best to define, prioritise, plan and implement improvements for the BHP IROC team. These improvements increase our ability to deliver the most value and preserve the benefits created through standard work. The Senior Rail Analyst executes analysis and benchmarking of the Production function's end-to-end performance along with identifying and implementing initiatives that enable functional excellence and support continuous improvement.
In this role, you will be a part of the Control A&I team which supports the five Control Execution teams for BHP IROC: Mine Control, Drill Control, Port Control, Train Control and Fixed Plant Control. In this role, you will safely support the Rail/Train Control Operations team to analyse performance and identify gaps. You will be responsible for executing initiatives and strategies to solve and improve output. You will be working closely with the Rail Transport Project team to develop your knowledge of the new Communication Based Signalling System. You will drive and facilitate high quality continuous improvement of Control Operations whilst maintaining the portfolio of improvements. You will be requested from time to time to coach other team members by drawing on your previous experiences to assist in developing a strong performing and delivery focused team. This role will be Perth based, and in challenging the way we work, flexible working options may be available.
To be successful in this role, you will require extensive rail experience, preferably in the control operations environment. Additionally, being adept at project management, strong routine analysis, bias for action and a continuous improvement mind set are just a few examples of the attributes and skills are highly desirable. Whilst all are not essential, the aforementioned attributes are congruent with team’s successes to date.
You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and able to use your relationship building and influencing skills in order to deliver positive business outcomes. It is essential that you will have seen projects through from conception to execution as we are looking for “hands on” technically capable individuals.
The successful candidate will be passionate to learn, analytical, engaging, collaborative and determined. Experience in a similar role would be advantageous and an Engineering Qualification is desirable, but not essential.
