Senior Engineer – Assurance

 

Would you like to play a vital part in the assurance and on-going development of combat systems for in-service submarines? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer - Assurance at our site in Weymouth, Dorset.

 

As a Senior Engineer - Assurance, you will be responsible for proving and assuring that the Common Combat System (CCS) is safe and certified for use. You will be working across all in-service submarine classes and across the whole combat system, providing you with a broad range of experience. In this role your contribution will make a real difference to the project.

 

In this role you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders through involvement at crucial design and test reviews. It will also provide you with the opportunity to join a growing part of our business and develop your career in Assurance.

 

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer - Assurance will involve: 

 

Carrying out assurance activities to ensure the combat system is safe and certified for use

 

Producing assurance certification documentation to support in-service submarine platforms

 

Reviewing design and test documentation

 

Involvement in project reviews including test reviews, for in-service and in-build across the various submarine platforms

 

Reviewing project review documentation and creating reports to support future reviews

 

Carrying out assurance and testing at combat system test rigs

 

 

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer - Assurance:

 

Essential:

 

Experience within an engineering background and an understanding of systems engineering (i.e. V-Diagram or engineering life cycle)

 

Ability to write technical reports and review technical documentation

 

Desirable:

 

Previous experience in Assurance

 

HNC/ HND level qualification (or equivalent) in relevant engineering field, and ideally working towards IEng

 

Prior Defence/ maritime industry experience
