The success of the Nickel West Cliffs operation is closely linked to the effective application of capital, preventative maintenance, uptime analysis and cost. To support this, your objective will be to analyse and improve the mechanical reliability of the mobile equipment assets in the Underground mine at the Cliffs operations. Conduct asset reliability audits and improvements in a cost-effective manner by monitoring equipment performance, reviewing and optimizing equipment maintenance strategies, verifying effectiveness of maintenance plans (SAP), overseeing technical investigations (RCFA), and researching and initiating improvement projects.
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent your responsibilities will include guidance and direction of internal and external resources operating on site. In addition, you will assist maintenance execution teams with resolving equipment breakdowns as required. Your other responsibilities will require exposure in the Underground mining environments at Cliffs operations to understand the challenging environments in which the equipment works to provide focussed solutions to reduce equipment downtime.To be considered for this position you will need to have experience in reliability engineering, risk management, life cycle costing and reliability centered maintenance in underground mining operations.
Your experience will include maintaining Underground equipment, experience preferred with Sandvik drills, Caterpillar LHD’s, Atlas Copco underground trucks and Normet ancillary equipment.
You will have a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering and have proven experience in your chosen discipline.
Key attributes that will contribute to your success include an engaging safety focus, effective team player with enabling communication skills, capability in facilitation, strong analytical and problem solving skills, advanced technical report writing ability and a high level of computer literacy. Previous experience with SAP is advantageous.

**Nickel West Cliffs****Nickel West Cliffs is located approximately 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. Cliffs underground Nickel Mine is an integral part of Nickel West Leinster comprising of a nickel concentrator and dryer, located 12 kilometres south of Nickel West Mt Keith.
