Come and be a part of this success.As a technical lead working across the Innovation Mine portfolio, you will facilitate product teams in Designing, Building, Testing and Deploying software solutions utilising modern development techniques and best practices such as Test Driven Development, CI/CD and automated testing. Your role will be to enable and unblock Software Developers in BHP’s Innovation Mine who are helping to deliver our flagship fully integrated, highly automated mining operation.

Reporting to the Manager Digital Transformation (Innovation Mine), your key accountabilities will include:

  • Design, Build, Test and Deploy Software. The primary accountability of a technical leader in software engineer at BHP’s Innovation Mine is to facilitate product teams building the right thing, the right way.

  • **Ensure Quality.**Testing and quality are no longer just the responsibility of Quality Analysts; Developers are equally responsible for ensuring that any software produced meets the standards for quality agreed upon by the team and the wider organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of building and delivering working software to production. You are likely to have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline or possess the equivalent industry/or organisational experience. Experience and/or accreditation in AWS or Azure is highly desirable for this role. You will have solid experience with TDD (Test Driven Development), BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) and/or Domain Driven Design. Experience working with and/or implementing distributed architectures will be highly regarded. Familiarity with modern Source Control and CI/CD tools is preferred.

As the successful candidate, you have a deep interest in innovation, digital technology and its potential. You have superior interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence, and build credibility and trust across all organisational levels. You can demonstrate personal drive and are creative yet pragmatic in thinking. Experience working in a collaborative, Agile/Scrum development environment is a requirement for this position.
