As the National Skills Program Lead, you will be responsible for building the program by collaborating closely with many different stakeholders to design and run initiatives that help our community develop both digital and non-digital skills. For example, pilots are currently being designed to scale across broad audiences around the country, and you will generate further momentum and even greater scale by unlocking investments from other organizations that may want to partner with us. You will also establish new initiatives to ensure maximum impact across the region.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that the National Skills Program aligns with the business and strategic objectives of Microsoft Australia, and demonstrates to our customers and partners the value of such skills development efforts. You will also be responsible for identifying new partnerships and leveraging best practices from other organizations and Microsoft subsidiaries around the world to ensure that our program is a global leader and a tangible demonstration of our commitment to Australia.  


The successful individual will be a natural leader, able to easily navigate and nurture complex multi-party initiatives (both internal and external to Microsoft), inspire others with their vision for the National Skills Program, and have excellent project management skills. The candidate will also be able to evaluate the social return of Microsoft’s investments and communicate its impact both internally and externally.


#Responsibilities


Primary responsibilities 


• Drive the strategic development, execution and evaluation of skills programs that will ensure Microsoft realizes its mission to help all Australians achieve more

• Align the National Skills Program with key business priorities by building strong business cases for new pilots

• Develop strategic partnerships with other key organizations to collaborate on initiatives that build a future-ready workforce

• Demonstrate strong governance practices to manage the financial and contractual aspects of the National Skills Program, including grant-making processes and reporting

• Ensure appropriate monitoring and reporting of program activities to create maximum impact

• Deliver success by orchestrating a virtual team across Microsoft’s Australian and other global offices

• Drive strong external and internal awareness of the National Skills Program, working in partnership with Corporate PR to showcase the impact of our investments


#Qualifications



• A relentless focus on helping all Australians achieve more, and an insatiable curiosity to identify new ways of making a positive impact

• Ability to lead in complex internal and external environments

• Ability to deal with ambiguity, and demonstrated experience orchestrating a geographically and functionally diverse team

• 3+ years of experience supporting education/upskilling-related social services projects

• Proven ability to form partnerships that deliver social and business value over multiple years

• Demonstrated project management and grant-making experience, ideally for multi-year projects spanning large geographic regions
