The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centers in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.

This exciting role will focus on the safe execution of mine services including the management of people and equipment. This role will also have a heavy emphasis on identifying improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficiency and production.

Positive and decisive leadership will be required to be able to effectively run prestart meetings, allocate daily tasks, and work closely with various stakeholders in the business. In addition, you will have a positive mindset and effective management of safety through active field leadership engagement.

As the Supervisor, you will have experience in managing a Mine Services team on a large-scale open cut mining operation. You will demonstrate strong decision-making and multiple conflicting prioritization skills to achieve the best outcome for crews and production in the short and long term.

Your strong scheduling capabilities, comprehensive knowledge of the execution of the production plan in conjunction with your impressive safety record will enable you to achieve established KPI targets. You will bring a passion for coaching and mentoring of individual team members to deliver on plan and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

You will be based at our new South Flank mine site on a fly-in fly-out basis. This role will initially be working a 5:2 / 4:3 roster for approximately 6 months, then move to a 2:1 roster, but candidates in pursuit of flexible work arrangements are encouraged to apply.
