The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager Ministerial Services to join the Office of the Executive Director Regional and Freight within Roads & Maritime Services. In this diverse and challenging role you will be responsible for ministerial and executive division coordination and delivering a range of government services such as Ministerial Briefings and advice and parliamentary support.


Key accountabilities

  • By means of effective triage of cabinet, parliamentary and briefing requests coming into the Office of the Executive Director, to manage the prioritisation, coordination and timeliness of submissions
  • Ensure RMS’s responses to Ministerial, Chief Executive, Cabinet, Parliamentary and Transport for NSW requests are aligned with the RMS forward agenda, are of a high standard and represent the organisation effectively.
  • Provide quality assurance of all RMS cabinet, parliamentary and briefing responses by critically reviewing documents before submission, ensuring accuracy and relevancy of information, and that responses fully meet the requirements of ministerial and Transport for NSW stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective high level working relationships with the Regional & Freight Directors, RMS Executive, the Chief Executive, Transport for NSW and the Ministers offices through ongoing liaison, communication and sharing of critical information.
  • Manage the coordination of information to support the Minister and senior agency representations as witnesses to the Legislative Council’s annual Budget Estimates hearings.
  • Provide strong leadership and establish a high performing team that is adaptable, willing to challenge the status quo and trusted. 

 

We seek a professional who can build collaborative and long-term working relationships with the Regional & Freight Directors, RMS Executive, the Chief Executive, Transport for NSW and the Ministers offices through ongoing liaison, communication and sharing of critical information. You will also be able to manage complex and politically sensitive briefings and materials in a high-profile environment, often within urgent timeframes.

Remuneration package: RMS USS 10 ($117,291 – $128,178), plus employer's contribution to superannuation.
