Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 5/2 roster, with residential or FIFO to Adelaide options available. Alternative rosters are available for the right candidate. This role is about identifying and implementing improvement initiatives with the Mine Surface Production team. The successful candidate will work with people across all teams, to enable functional excellence and support business priorities for continuous improvement of the Production function.

In this role you will:

  • Implement and maintain core

department routines across safety, volume, cost and culture

  • Analyse performance metrics and

benchmarks performance across the function in other BHP businesses

  • Monitor compliance to plans and

schedules

  • Perform analysis of technical

and or work processes, as well as equipment capability

  • Provide expertise to other

sub-functions in analysis of performance indicators and metrics

  • Identify functional capability

gaps and recommend improvements

  • Compile and maintain the

portfolio of improvement initiatives

  • Comply to and consistently

follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely

and effectively every day

  • Prepare the inputs to form the

Production budget

  • Provide feedback to the

Planning function to improve future execution plans, designs, schedules

and forecasts

  • Engage with Engineering for modifications needed to plant and

equipment

  • Proven commitment to look after

your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put

themselves in harm’s way

  • Problem solving and lateral

thought process-orientated

  • Ability to develop and foster

collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships

  • Tertiary Qualification in

Engineering or Business Improvement

  • Willingness to lead and

implement change

  • Motivation to find optimal

working methods and strive for continuous improvement
