About this role

This is a role in for an Associate or Senior Associate in our HR&IR team in Melbourne. There are currently five partners within the HR&IR team in Melbourne. The team undertakes a range of employment, administrative law, industrial relations, discrimination and safety work for leading clients in the private and public sectors. The team is part of the broader national employment team within MinterEllison, and is recognised as one of the leading teams in the Melbourne market.

We are currently seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to work closely with a Partner, Joelle Grover. In this role, you will be working primarily in the administrative, professional disciplinary and regulatory law space. In particular, you will be required to advise a national regulator in relation to professional conduct issues, and you will be required to conduct proceedings for and on behalf of the regulator.

While the primary focus of the role is as described above, you may also be required to assist clients in broader HR, employment and industrial relations issues.

What you need

To succeed in these roles you will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in Administrative, employment and regulatory law, and in particular, experience assisting or advising regulators in relation to professional conduct issues.
  • Some experience in IR, Employment and/or Discrimination Law preferred
  • Litigious and case management experience
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and in particular developing your technical excellence as this is a complex area of practice
  • Maturity and sensitivity
  • Personal resilience and strategies for effectively handling sensitive matters
