About the opportunity

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance leader to join our Willowdale Mine maintenance department as a Group Leader (Supervisor) on a 19 day month.

In this challenging leadership role, you will be responsible for developing effective Electrical work plans using a standardised planning process, as well as providing Electrical trade crews leadership.

You will be involved in daily and weekly planning and the development of the electrical plan each week to ensure the business needs are met. This will include developing costed work packs which contain detailed work scope, resource requirements (including labour and equipment) and parts / materials management.

As a Group Leader at Alcoa you will be responsible for crew safety, work performance and people development of the Electrical maintenance teams, ensuring they are properly trained and aligned to the mines business goals.

You will coach the crew to become an effective semi-autonomous work group that can make informed decisions to manage their own safety performance, work output, cost control, reporting and problem solving.

For the right candidate, flexible work arrangements would be considered for this role. Please let us know when you apply if this is something you are seeking.

Well-developed communication skills are essential to enable you to co-ordinate the Electrical maintenance team, negotiate issues and prioritise workload with your peers, other supervisory staff and senior management.

A proven record of accomplishment in the safe operation and maintenance of high voltage distribution systems, which may include circuit breakers, distribution transformers and overhead powerlines, is also highly desirable.
