Join our new South Flank Project

The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.

Embracing inclusion and diversity to create a vibrant culture that represents the communities in which we live, South Flank is focused on high performance, flexible work arrangements, strong Indigenous participation and gender balance.

This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic individual to be part of something big – to work in an innovative team, with evolving technology, and playing a pivotal role in creating a world class mine.A multi-million dollar investment has been made towards an impressive fleet of mobile equipment, including the market’s latest models of dozers, graders, loaders, excavators, drills and haul trucks.

The drill team at South Flank will be responsible for drilling the identified ore deposits using Pit Vipers and D65 drills.

Whilst mining experience is advantageous, we would still love to hear from those who come from various backgrounds, Oil & Gas, Quarrying, Civil, Road Construction and/or a Defence background – just to name a few! We are eager to engage Drill Operators with all levels of experience and ideally those who have experience operating D65 and/or Pit Viper (271) drills. Seeing as we are in the initial stages of the project, you should be flexible in the tasks you perform and work well in a team to get the job done. You will encourage cross collaboration between both the blasting and drilling crews in order to operate a safe and productive operation.
