The Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting delivery of the risk management framework and compliance requirements of the Fund within the Governance and Risk Team, including responsibility for the compliance checking of member and employer communications, staff training and handling enquiries from Fund staff, service providers, auditors and regulators. 

The key responsibilities of this Melbourne based role will include;

  • Ensure the Fund’s Risk Management Framework and compliance programs are operating effectively;
  • Provide advice and support across the business units to appropriately identify, monitor and manage risk and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and Fund policies;
  • Work with the Fund’s automated Risk Management platform to monitor and manage risk, compliance obligations, policy and control monitoring;
  • Management and follow up of Incident and Breaches;
  • Support the team to ensure that the Fund complies with the Superannuation Industry (Supervisions) Act, Corporations Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act, Privacy Act, Trust Deed, regulatory licences, Prudential Standards, regulatory guidance and relevant legislation;
  • Detailed checking of all outgoing communication collateral to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, Fund rules and is factually accurate;
  • Promoting and participating in the development of high quality compliance and risk programs and the necessary training;
  • Maintenance of compliance registers and databases on an ongoing basis;

To be successful you will require prior experience within a compliance related role based in a Superannuation, Investments or Financial Services organisation coupled with high attention to detail, solid analytical skills and stakeholder management.
