We are currently seeking an experienced Associate to join our Multinationals Team in Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Multinationals Australia, this role will develop and grow profitable long-term relationships with inbound Multinational clients.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Establishing a holistic understanding of clients’ needs and deliver value added propositions across all product lines throughout HSBC’s global business;
  • Coordinating profitable origination and execution of activities across the spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services;
  • Growth of HSBC’s share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements;
  • Driving achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment;
  • Identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector/country expertise as appropriate;
  • Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required credit quality and requisite returns;
  • Building strong relationships with product partners to maximise increased product penetration;
  • Actively promoting, developing and assessing members of the team within your assigned area of responsibility;
  • Critical to understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business;
  • Building the Global Banking franchise value/reputation in the market place;


To be successful in this role you will require:
  • Good ability to gain substantial business for the Group across a full range of products;
  • Good track record of building and developing long term relationships including at key decision maker level for all clients;
  • Excellent portfolio management skills;
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline;
  • A well-developed understanding of risk management and risk mitigation;
  • Proven achievements in a leadership or management capacity;
  • Good record of proactively developing and originating client solutions;
  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder management skills, both internal and external;
  • The ability to liaise across multiple levels of business and client, with a positive and proactive attitude;
