Who we are
Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a social purpose organisation that works with partners to improve the lives of people in need in Australia by helping businesses, governments and philanthropists to be more effective funders and social purpose organisations to be more effective at delivering services. SVA's Consulting team supports leaders to make hard decisions, galvanise teams to sustain success and share insights with the social sector. We have 40 staff in our consulting team with offices in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Since 2007, we have developed unique, on-the-ground experience supporting over 300 clients through 600 engagements. We work on society's most challenging issues including housing, employment, education, mental health, disability, and Indigenous disadvantage.

The position
The Associate Director, Consulting Operations is part of the leadership of the Consulting business. The position directly supports the Executive Director, Consulting while working closely with the other Consulting Directors to ensure the financial sustainability and effectiveness of SVA’s Consulting operations. The primary focus of this position is to lead on ensuring the most valuable asset of SVA Consulting, our people, are engaged in the best way possible. This involves working with Consulting Directors and project leads on allocating consultants to the right billable engagements, business development opportunities and internal projects and necessitates consideration of various factors, including best fit for client/project, skills and development needs of Consultants and timing of need. Other key elements of the position include managing Consulting business financials, improving Consulting operations workflow and driving data and systems to effectively operate the Consulting business. The Associate Director also has a key role contributing to the continued growth and development of SVA Consulting.

Who you are
In this appointment, we are seeking a seasoned senior manager with proven expertise and insight advising and supporting senior leadership on business, resourcing and financial matters. You will come to the role with deep experience leading business operations in a service or people oriented context, ideally management consulting. You will have solid experience organising and utilising business resources in support of client deliverables combined with broad-ranging expertise in financial management, including analysis, modelling, budgeting and reporting. To be effective in the role, you will have a strong working knowledge of project management principles and success operating at both strategic and operational levels.

As a member of SVA’s Consulting team you will collaborate with a highly committed team with wide-ranging professional backgrounds across the business and social sectors. The focus of this role will see you forging close relationships with inspiring colleagues working on society's most important challenges.
